Quotes from Calvin and Hobbes

I've gotten noise for quoting cartoons and comic strips in the past, but oh well, they can be quite wise at times.

"No efficiency. No accountability. I tell you, Hobbes, it's a lousy way to run a universe." - Calvin

It's hard to be religious when certain people are never incinerated by bolts of lightning." -Calvin

"Mom and dad say I should make my life an example of the principles I believe in. But every time I do, they tell me to stop it." - Calvin

Calvin:  Do you believe in the devil?  You know, a supreme evil being         dedicated to the temptation, corruption, and destruction of man?
Hobbes:  Im not sure that man needs the help.

Calvin: Well. Ive decided I *do* believe in Santa Claus,  no matter how preposterous he sounds.
Hobbes: What convinced you?
Calvin: A simple risk analysis. I want presents. *Lots* of presents. Why  risk not getting them over a matter of belief?  Heck,  Ill believe anything they want.
Hobbes: How cynically enterprising of you.
Calvin: Its the spirit of Christmas.
